There are currently plans from the HSE to distribute Covid Vaccination via GP surgeries to patients in the recommended groups. It is anticipated that this rollout will begin in Mid-September 2023. and will likely be administered alongside the Annual seasonal flu vaccine and the pneumococcal vaccine.This is entirely dependant on the availabilty of supply from the manufacturers. We will update patients via usual social media channels.
Covid Vaccination update 12/02/2021
As per media reports covid vaccination in some General Practices in Ireland should commence from next week
Rathdowney Health Centre does not expect to receive any vaccines until early march
I would like to reassure all our elderly patients that I have made efforts to request to have some covid vaccines delivered with our regular fortnightly vaccine delivery next week. I am confident that we are ready to rollout this programme in Rathdowney. However, since I have received no reply to these requests I am not hopeful that they will arrive.
There is no need to contact the health centre to arrange vaccination. Once we are aware of if/when/how many vaccines we will receive we will contact patients directly to come in and receive their vaccine.
Update 23/2/2021
Vaccine rollout is continuing steadily in Rathdowney Health Centre. The next group eligible for vaccine are the 75-79 years group. We expect to get a delivery early next week. Depending on quantities received we will contact eligible patients directly to receive same. Also those who received their first vaccine 28 days ago will be called to complete their vaccine schedule next week.
